As a musician and artist, he creates experiences that are both touching and thought-provoking. He follows the unknown, looks behind things and faces up to his social responsibility.
With his ensembles Broken Frames Syndicate, Kommas Ensemble and ensemble via nova, Moritz develops new formats and tells personal stories of the unfamiliar on stage. His view of the world is characterized by an boundless curiosity and fascination for contemporary music in all its facets.
Moritz Schneidewendt tends to work in an interdisciplinary way in order to convey the multi-layered themes of our time and complex aesthetics. He combines his classical training as a clarinettist and bass clarinettist with the means and techniques of other artistic disciplines and seeks dialog with others. His conceptual concert design creates experiences that convey more than just entertainment.
After completing his master's degree with distinction, new doors opened for him at the International Ensemble Modern Academy.
Since 2018, Schneidewendt leads the resulting Broken Frames Syndicate, which was supported by the German Music Council and awarded the Ensemble Prize of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation in 2024.
He uses his artistic ensemble work to promote the diversification of musical life and to open up spaces for social discourse.
In close collaboration with young composers and artists from other disciplines and as a sought-after chamber musician, Moritz can be met and experienced worldwide - at the same time, he writes, thinks and experiments in his Offenbach studio.
